Enabling the body to produce therapeutic proteins over an extended period using plasmid DNA: this is the ambition of the INSET project.

Focused on animal health, with potential applications in human health, the project aims to develop an approach tailored to chronic diseases.

Alongside Vetoquinol Global, INRAE and SMALTIS, RD-BIOTECH is contributing its expertise in plasmid DNA engineering and bioproduction. The company is involved in developing a vector free from antibiotic resistance genes and in optimizing its production process.

This work aims to improve yields, control costs and prepare the process for larger-scale production.

RD-BIOTECH will be attending Festival of Biologics 2026 in Basel, alongside our sister company MImAbs. Bringing together the biologics community from discovery through to manufacturing, the event will be an opportunity to discuss the R&D challenges shaping the development of biologic therapies.

This October, RD-BIOTECH will be attending CPHI Milan 2026, from 6 to 8 October at Fiera Milano. With more than 25 years of expertise in plasmid DNA manufacturing, our team supports advanced therapy developers from plasmid design and cloning to GMP manufacturing. The event will be a great opportunity to discuss your current and future plasmid DNA needs, including projects in mRNA therapies, viral vectors, and cell & gene therapies, and to explore new collaborations.

This September, RD-BIOTECH is back on the conference circuit with two events dedicated to innovation and bioproduction. Our teams will attend the MImAbs Antibody Innovation Summit on 22 September in Villejuif, and the 11th Bioproduction Congress – BIOPC2026 on 22–23 September in Lyon. These events will be an opportunity to discuss your projects involving antibodies, proteins, plasmids, cells and bioproduction, and to build new collaborations.

Launched on 14 October 2024 in Besançon, BioImp is an ambitious collaborative project aimed at deploying new technological and biotechnological solutions to improve biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
With €17.8 million in funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Massif du Jura ERDF–ESF+ 2021–2027 programme, the project brings together several industry stakeholders to address the challenges of developing and optimising bioproduction.

RD-BIOTECH is hiring a Recombinant Protein Biochemistry Technician – Production and Purification (M/F) on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Besançon, France. You will contribute to the various stages of recombinant protein expression, production, purification and quality control, including ÄKTA/FPLC chromatography. We are looking for a candidate with 2–4 years of higher education in a relevant field, at least 1 year of experience and proficiency in core protein biochemistry techniques.

RD-BIOTECH is hiring a GMP Bioproduction Technician on a permanent contract in Besançon, France, to support the GMP production of plasmid DNA. You will carry out the various stages of bioproduction, from media preparation to fermentation and chromatography operations, in compliance with GMP requirements. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a GMP environment and proficiency in industrial bioproduction techniques. Salary: €28,000–€30,000 gross per year.
